Special features:
item products are based on different modular dimensions and their associated system grooves. Profiles from Lines 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 each need corresponding sizes of fasteners. Details

Linear Unit KGT 6 60 P20 combines a ball screw drive that has a stroke of up to 2600 mm with a strong carriage, and does so in the smallest of installation spaces.
In applications with a long travel distance, travelling spindle supports keep everything running smoothly and precisely without sacrificing dynamics. The spindle lead of 20 mm per revolution gives the Linear Units a high feed force even when drive torque is low.
This powerful ball screw drive is ideal for moving tools and workpieces with absolute precision. The linear axis can be used on its own or as part of a 2D or 3D gantry.
Thanks to the waisted section at each end and the travelling spindle supports, the spindle runs exceptionally smoothly even with long stroke lengths and high speeds. Linear Units KGT therefore support applications that require maximum precision but can’t compromise on dynamics.
An unbroken cover strip conceals the inner workings and therefore provides protection from soiling. The spindle is low-maintenance and features lifetime lubrication.
The carriage runs on two high-precision recirculating ball units. This enables reliable positioning with a repeatability of 0.01 mm at a high feed force.
Numerous Drive Sets, Gearboxes and Motors are available to suit the installation dimensions of just 60x60 mm. These plug-and-play solutions are used to connect up various drives in the desired arrangement.
Ball screw drives are ideal for use with stepper motors such as Integrated Motor ST NEMA24 -310-48-T1 (0.0.703.45).

Maximum spindle speed with and without KGT 6 60 spindle supports
The spindle supports keep the maximum unsupported spindle length more or less constant. This means the critical speed of 3000 min-1 is constant over the entire possible stroke range.
Compact Linear Units KGT 6 60 from item are available with different spindle leads so you can select the ideal ratio of operating load, feed force and speed.
The distances S1 and S2 are built as follows:
S1: distance to the fixed bearing (13mm) + safety distance (Smin = 26mm) + n x spindle support (16mm)
S2: distance to floating bearing (11mm) + safety distance (Smin = 26mm) + n x spindle support (16mm)
The safety distance of 26mm is in all variants the free area, in which e.g. during the reference motion procedure is driven.
